Rationale for Disapproval:

• The committe has very large concerns regarding the safety and mainenance of the propsoe signage, specifically around the use of offset letting and logo which provides a surface for interaction with persons at the pedestrian level.  The offset signage, at this level and as designed, provide a place for persons to pry or rip the lettering and logo from the wall, exposing wiring and potential other hazardous esdges while also providing a space for trash and other debris to be collected.  It also provides a platform for hanging and/or climbing and the projected width, which was stated to be 4-1/2" overall, are a hazard for pedestrians in the right-of-way.
• The committee feels that some form of signage at this location is acceptable, that the signage, especially when proposed at the pedestrian level, needs to balance safety concerns with the aesthetics of the overall proposal.

For reasons DRAC has stated and precedent of off-premise advertising.
