The committee strongly recommedns disapproval of the project with the following comments:

  • The applicant go back to the historic elevations and reasses the proposed design to be more in line with the historic context.
  • THe facade should be more open with more glazing so as to have a better street presence.
  • The facade seems more like a fashion statement as opposed to a complimentary piece to the historic building.  The facade should be simplified and subdued.
  • There was no clear dialogue about the discussions with the applicant and different governing authorities, like SHPO, to see if more glazing would be acceptable.
