1. Members are split on the demolition of this apartment building. a. Voting in approval, those in favor generally see the building as a component of the entire redevelopment. To be clear, they do not necessarily think the building cannot be rehabilitated or saved, they see it more as a part of the overall site vision. b. Voting in disapproval, those against demolition generally see the building as contributing to the streetscape/historic fabric of Lorain, providing missing-middle housing, and not worth the 17 spaces of parking the land provides if the building is demolished (since the site has large amounts of parking already). |
